Sportz Central is uniquely qualified to be the training ground for your developing baseball player. From 8U through the high school years our teams, programs, and instructors are the finest the Delaware Valley and the Northeast region has to offer. Our success is directly related to a decades old philosophy stressing the development of the player as opposed to the win at all cost mentality of typical youth travel baseball. OUR GOAL has and will always be to provide a nurturing learning environment where the emphasis is placed on the teaching of baseball fundamentals within a team construct resulting in the development of high character players for the high school level and beyond. While other programs and facilities dazzle you with fancy websites, sponsorships, and slick talk we stick to the basics: BUILDING BETTER BASEBALL PLAYERS. And you cannot argue with success! Within the past year alone 21 Sportz Central players have committed to Division 1 universities. TWENTY-ONE! In one Year!
Want more results. How about the successes of our signature programs. Brooklawn Legion coached by Rutgers-Camden head coach Dennis Barth recently appeared in the fourth consecutive American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. The Brookers were World Champions in 2013 and 2014 falling just short this past year despite being decimated with injuries. All-Out Baseball under the guidance of former professional Guy Lynam has forged itself as a regional AAU power winning exclusive tournaments at Diamond Nation and Perfect Game. Both programs are the proving ground for some of the best young baseball players in the northeast region. And unlike others we can back it up with proof!
Our players experience success at the higher levels. Former Brooker Mike Shawaryn was a Division 1 All American and Golden Spikes finalist at the University of Maryland this past year. His teammate Nick Cieri an All-Out and Brooklawn alum was a Cape Cod League All-Star this past summer. Both were major league draft picks in 2013 and both will be high draft picks again after the coming season. Former Brooker and UVA shortstop Stephen Bruno continues his climb towards the “show” after having just finished another strong season in the Chicago Cubs organization. Stephen Bruno, like many of our players, never forgot his baseball roots and he returns to us over the winter as an instructor helping to develop the next generation of our players. In the past decade pitchers Greg Burke and Zack Braddock, both Brookers, played in the major leagues. Sportz Central players have played on the biggest stage in amateur baseball the College World Series, Sportz Central Players have worn USA across their chests, and Sportz Central Players have played for some of the biggest name baseball programs in the country: LSU, University of Miami, University of Virginia, University of Georgia, University of Alabama, and Florida State University to name a few.
And when our guys playing days are over what then? Because our players LEARNED the game the right way many have made the game of baseball their career. From head coaches Dennis Barth at Rutgers-Camden to Mike Scappa at York College to John Yurkow at the University of Pennsylvania to Mike Dickson of Rowan University, from scouts Steve Mondile with the Florida Marlins to Casey Fahey Fahey with the KC Royals to Mike Moriarty with the Seattle Mariners to Mark Sauer with the Oakland A’s our players have a superior understanding of the game of baseball. How amazing it was it to see former Brooker and current SG Giant assistant GM John Barr shake hands with former Brooker and current KC Royal scout Casey Fahey in front of our 2014 American Legion World Champion Brooklawn team at last year’s MLB World Series. That is special and that is who we are! Our tradition speaks for itself and now ask yourself, “What do I want for my kid?”
"Positive atmosphere, great instructors really took the time out and gave my son the personalized instruction needed."
